About
I’m Marcelo. Brazilian, with Catalan roots from Girona. I’ve lived in France, Spain, and the US; these days I’m based in Vitória, on the Brazilian coast.
Twenty years in enterprise data infrastructure, in two halves. The first out of France and Madrid — Dell, then Quantum and Spectra Logic, covering Iberia, Southern Europe, and expansion markets. The second from Miami and then Brazil, running Latin America for Quantum. Around eighteen countries and four languages along the way, mostly in media & entertainment, government, and research.
Since July 2026 I’ve been at VAST Data, executing on AI infrastructure and data platforms. Storage is the smallest part of that conversation now.
Off the clock: too many containers running at home, a Harley Fat Boy, and tube amps. Gil has put up with all of it since 2001; our son Joaquim since 2015.
About this blog
This used to be a résumé. Now it’s a notebook — things I figure out and want to remember, things I get wrong, things I read. AI infrastructure and data platforms, the enterprise markets I work in, the homelab, and whatever else. No fixed subject, no schedule.
If something here is useful — or wrong — I’d like to hear about it.
